RANZ: Raptor Association of New Zealand - birds of prey: hawks, harriers, falcons

The Raptor Association of New Zealand (RANZ) is a group of like-minded individuals and organizations that have a common appreciation of and admiration for the raptors of New Zealand.

Formed over 30 years ago RANZ promotes the greater understanding of raptors in New Zealand and is actively involved in the study, research, rehabilitation and conservation of New Zealand's birds of prey.

RANZ Membership

RANZ membership is spread throughout the North and South Islands of New Zealand and covers a wide range of interests and skills. Membership offers the opportunity to become involved and aid in the conservation and research of raptors in New Zealand.

There is an Annual General Meeting (AGM) held each year, usually held in conjunction with the Annual Field Trip and in 2005 RANZ visited the Falcon for Grapes project in the Waihopai Valley, Marlborough.

RANZ NZ Falcon Survey

The Raptor Association of New Zealand is currently embarking on an ambitious project to undertake a national survey of sightings of the New Zealand Falcon from around the country.
